Grand Rapids Is One Of The Happiest Cities In America OK, so Grand Rapids isn t number one on the list and we aren t in the top 10 either, but we are relatively high on the list.  And we are the by far the happiest city in Michigan. In a recent study done by our friends at WalletHub entitled 2021 s Happiest Cities in America, Grand Rapids ranked 30th out of the 182 surveyed across the country.  So, that s pretty good, right?  I mean, that does put us in the top 17% of all the cities in the country. The other city in Michigan to make the list is Detroit and they ranked pretty low.  Like, actually, really low.  Detroit ranked 182nd out of the 182 cities surveyed.  Ouch.  And to add insult to injury, Detroit also ranked last for average adequate-sleep rate, and had the second highest divorce and separation rate.
